‘My office is committed to seeking justice on behalf of victims,’ Price said in the release.
George Soros, a billionaire investor and philanthropist, funded Price $130,000 and gave her boyfriend a six-figure position in her office, according to The Washington Free Beacon.
Price has faced criticism as crime has sky-rocketed in the community.
Oakland NAACP leaders called for a state of emergency in August over the soaring crime rate, as they attributed it to the defund the police movement and Price.
The Black advocacy group wrote a letter that was aimed directly at Price.
‘Failed leadership, including the movement to defund the police, our District Attorney’s unwillingness to charge and prosecute people who murder and commit life-threatening serious crimes, and the proliferation of anti-police rhetoric have created a heyday for Oakland criminals,’ the letter said.
‘If there are no consequences for committing crime in Oakland, crime will continue to soar.’
Her office responded and said that Price was ‘disappointed that a great African-American pastor and a great African-American organization would take a false narrative on such an important matter.’
In March Price had also pushed to reduce prison and jail time for criminals, including murderers.
The Berkely Scanner revealed in a leaked Almeda County memo that the DA circulated around her office, that she hoped to reduce reoffending and bring back balanced sentencing.
Price is aligned with a national movement of progressives attempting to reduce mass incarceration and push for reforms at the county level by seeking top prosecutor seats.
Price also said she would resentence people facing life without parole, and to prosecute police misconduct.

His laptop, passport and documents were inside the stolen bag.
