Reports of drunkenness are very common in the Russian army; A British intelligence report specifically blames alcohol for Vlad’s failures.
But Russian authorities are now trying to figure out what happened that night.
And Putin’s officials are already trying to intervene to secure the high-ranking official’s release.
Police are investigating whether Magasumov pulled the trigger and killed the girl who wanted to see his gun.
Another theory is that his comrade Yaskevich accidentally killed the girl after Magasumov left.
Bizarrely, the colonel allegedly left the lieutenant alone with the girls after another friend asked him to help confront “five tattooed men”.
However, according to Russian media, investigators assumed Magasumov fired the shot.
Magasumov was reportedly arrested earlier this month.
But the details are only now becoming known in local media and on Telegram’s Russian channels.
His arrest was confirmed by his wife.
The governor of his region, Sergei Tsivilev, tried to intervene in the case.
He wrote a letter to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia (Federal Police Service) and asked that the case against his friend be handed over to him.
Governor Tsivilev said the colonel has been “directly involved in Putin’s war” since it started on February 24, 2022, and lamented that the soldier “risks his life every day.”
